Interested in Becoming a Certified Peer Support Specialist?
Are You Eligible?
To become a Certified Peer Support Specialist, you must have at least 18 months of continuous recovery. This ensures you have the lived experience necessary to support others effectively. Learn the Steps to see if you qualify.
Complete Training
Enroll in the comprehensive 70-hour training program offered by UNC Chapel Hill. This includes a mandatory 3-hour session on Ethics and Boundaries 101, ensuring you are well-prepared for your role.
Final Step
Once your training is complete, upload all required documentation to the NC Peer Support portal. This is the final step to becoming a certified specialist, ready to make a difference.
